The forecast of 20kt Southerlies is looking good for Bribie this weekend and early low (well sort of low) tide at 10:20 and 11:45 respectively. Red Beach is the one that John West won't reject for this excursion.
Hopefully the usual suspects will be there to savour the day and all the newbies and old salts will be a welcome sight.

Hope you're reading this Mr.Chapman.

Sailing from 8:30, weather and wind permitting.

We have some things to do over the weekend so were thinking Murrarie might be quicker and easier to get to.

For anyone that doesnt want to make the trek to Bribie let me know if want to meet up Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon.

Went to the vet at Sandgate today and checked out the beach when we were there. Plenty of sand even though a very high low but there was hardly any wind. The kite guys said it was only blowing around 6knts. What happened to the 20 knot forecast??

Will check wind Sunday morning and see if worth going to Murrarrie??

Well that SW came in alright, just 12 hrs later than predicted.

Sat, I met up with Russell and we tried our best in the 6-10kts on offer early on. But as the wind dropped with the tide, only my 5.5m could do it any justice and so Russell had his first try with the big sail and loved it. Could be something on the wish list for him.

Sun, started a bit better with 15kts SW so I used the 4m sail and scooted down to the south end of Skirmish. Not much point going any further as the head wind was making a slow journey back to Red Beach. Again the wind dropped with the tide, so packed it in at 12pm and had a sausage sizzle at the miniature steam train club. That's a cute hobby, but awefully slow.

For those who hesitated for something better closer to home,
Better luck next week.
