Pre Christmas Get Together and Sail

Postby JudyCox on Tue Dec 09, 2008 7:46 pm

When: Saturday 2pm
Where: Bribie Island

A 20kt northerly is forecast for Saturday afternoon and low tide is just after 4pm.

Therefore we can have a sail and then bring some decent duds to go and have dinner (any suggestions).

So get out the tinsel and reindeer antlers, dress up and come and have some fun.

For all those visitors who want to come and meet some of the BBKC members or try a blokart for a sail for the first time then give me a call on 0414 513 129 and we can arrange where and when on Bribie Island.

Can everyone RSVP so we can also make a dinner reservation

Great idea Madam President, and the Blue Pacific hotel at Woorim is pretty good for meals, or the Bribie Island Surf Club right on the beach(www.bribiesurfclub.com.au), also there is the RSL and Bowls club at Bongaree.

I've sailed with Russell in a north wind from the northern carpark (where the 4WD access is) going north to the 4WD beach access and back for about 1.5km. It's a fair amount of tacking up but a hoot coming back. Let us pray for a SE change so we can go to Red Beach.

Rang the Surf Club 34082141, they do dinner and bar at good prices and across the carpark is the public amenities with showers, this could be a good option all together.

Hope to see everyone there.

That was a fun day out, thanks everyone.
Wind came in NNW 13kts and made for some interesting and slow tacking up the beach, but Bernie made all the way up to the fourbie access and back. The rest of us mucked around close to camp and had heaps of fun. Swaping karts was the game of the day, Bernie in Judy's, Andrew in Bernie's, Christine in Andrew's and Georgina in mine and vise versa.
About 4 hours of sailing and swimmimg and frivolity, then off to the surf club for a shower, change of clothes and in for dinner. Fantastic meals, good drink and fabulous company, what more could one ask for...

We certainly missed not having everyone there, but we understand and hope to see all very soon.
Have a great Christmas, be happy and stay safe.

Cheers Brett 8)
