Hi everyone, the weekend is starting to look good with SE winds to around 15kts predicted and tides are low at 12:30 Sat and 13:15 Sun.

We could go to Bribie as usual or try Casuarina again and encourage the Gold Coast squad along for a big day out.

Response is encouraged here so the ball can get rolling.

We would love to get out this weekend but unfortunately have to work on Saturday and Sunday we have tickets for the 4wd show.

Really sad but looks like every weekend until after Easter is fully booked too.

Have a great time and catch up again soon.

Hey there - I *might* be able to get out on Sunday for a sail. All day Saturday though I will be agonising over who to vote for.

Well, not really.

I camped at Wooyung for Easter 2008 and it is a great little spot. I found that if you want to blokart to north up the road a very short distance (approx 100m) and there is a carpark that you can drive onto the beach. I setup there and easier than dragging along the pathway to the beach from the caravan park. The caravan park is very basic and really nice people run it. The showers are bore water and never really hot but who cares. Wish I could join you !!

I sailed alone at Red Beach on Sat and had 3 1/2 hours of good wind and deserted beach. What a hoot.
The wind was mainly SE and ranged from 15-20kts, the beach has been eroded quite a bit and plenty of seagrass and brown foam to get me dirty. But the beach was wide and firm from as early as 9am and I finished at 13:30 with at least another 2 hours of sail time available.
1 lone kite surfer was there when I packed up and he was having a ball with some really high air time. Looks all too much like hard work though so I'm staying with landsailing.
Went over to Woorim (surf side) to have lunch with my sister who is having a holiday in a unit on the beach, nice arvo with a few cold beverages to top off the day.

Another good day in the saddle at Red beach arriving at 10am and sailing till 2pm, even though I was meant to leave at 1pm (thanks alot Andy Pandy).
It was blowing more ESE today with 15-20kts again, but there was a lot more people and loose dogs to avoid and that dirty brown foam sticks to you like poo to a blanket... yuk!

I was rigged with a 4m sail and Dave in the Phoenix had to change down to a 3.8m cause the big sail was pushing him sideways. Andrew used a 4m and the kids were running the pirate black 3m sail.

Not sure what time the others sailed till but when I left at 2pm there was at least another 3 hours of running space before the tide took over.

The cleanup was more difficult than usual but the kart is ready for the next outing.

cya then

Hey Brett,

That dirty brown foam wouldn't have anything to do with that dirty brown oil spill a couple of weeks ago?

Not sure Lee, maybe. Or reminants of the Pasha Bulka or Aron Valdez, who knows but I'm sure the approrpiate authorities will be watching it and doing some immediate cleanup... or not

I'm at Mooloolaba triathlon this coming Sunday so no sailing for me unless it's Saturday.

peace out man
